Many reasons to take a dual credit

For Kharesa Jamieson, a Grade 12 student from St Theresa’s High School in Midland, taking a dual credit will help her graduate with her peers and explore a career path. She is studying Introduction to Psychology at the Midland campus of Georgian College.

“I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and had to take my Grade 11 year off for treatment,” Kharesa explains, “So I am short on credits compared to my classmates.”

Taking the college course is providing Kharesa with a chance to explore the adult learning environment and college expectations. It is working out well for her.

“Dual credit has been a great opportunity and has helped me greatly with my high school education,” she says. “I wanted a more in depth view into psychology as this is connected to my career path.”
